Any idea when Yankee Lady will be inbound?
Beach for me!! Just saw forecast at 6 and Lee Goldberg convinced me it's a go!! Plus I spent a full day at the airport today and it was incredible! Angels flew multiple flights today and their landings on 14, high speed low flybys then low landings right over my head was incredible!!
Beach again tomorrow! Was awesome today, plus had the scanner going and was able to get the cockpit coms!
found a video of #4's landing earlier today:

The boardwalk is pretty far away and you would need at least 500-600mm to even get lose to getting close up to the aircraft. Plus you have to contend with everybody walking by you and bumping you.
Down by the water is great, except for the inconsiderate people who run around a splash sand & water on your camera & lens. Yes I know it's a beach.
Today I was at the shore line with a 200-500 and for a lot of the shots I needed to move back 1/3rd of the way up the beach from the water as 200 was to much that close. It was my first time using this lens at this show.
I walked back down to get the high speed pass and Fat Alberts low pass.
So you just kind of have to play it by ear as some performers are closer to the beach and others are further out.
Worst is the lighting as you are shooting into the sun all day. In order to make it work you need to move further east in the morning and shoot west to avoid the backlighting. Then in the afternoon move west of show center and shoot east for better lighting.
Its a tough show to photograph if you just stay in one place.
