I had the privilege to photograph the plane side honors given to a fallen U.S. Marine, returning home to Houston from war, just one day after we all celebrated Independence Day. This was a good reminder what the day is all about.

Those are very powerful images. That message that "freedom isn't free" tends to get lost in the BBQ's and beer, so thank you for posting them.
Rest in peace to the fallen soldier.

The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!
Tim, I'm not your typical super patriotic kinda guy (whether it is in my home country, or the country that currently welcomes me: America), but having lost my father just 2 months ago makes me reflect slightly differently on this kind of images. You captured this very well, although I wish you had another kind of gig to attend that day... RIP.
Those are some incredibly powerful images, fair winds and following seas to the fallen Marine.
Incredible images! Thank you for sharing them!
