Nice Phil, we watched a little from our offices. If you don't mind the last shot is now my wallpaper on my work PC.

Phil, great shots, I know at that speed it had to be very hard to caputure, and your description was perfect, what a thrilling afternoon, and to think I actually got paid for that.
And Mario. Not only is their no admission, and free parking, but EVERYTHING is FREE. Free hot dogs, free drinks, free dunkin donuts, free face painting for the kids, a real cheap day out !
Cheers

Wow, awesome shots, Phil! Especially given how fast they were going.
Is that PSA-schemed retrojet in the background a hint of what we'll see tomorrow?
Looking forward to seeing y'all.
Very nice shots Phil !!
See you all tomorrow (:

i wonder if in the future SWA might dedicate a/c to Kids Day, if invited. maybe someone should drop the hint with the PA.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
In photo #6 where the F-18 is landing over the USAir PSA scheme......just above the AMR Eagle is the tower on the (what was) USAir Shuttle terminal. That was my office from '96-'98 when I was a Dispatcher for the Shuttle. That job was a spotters dream and I loved coming to work everyday. At the time there were 2 dispatchers (1 shift manager) and one ops person coordinating push/pulls, and being all around airboss for anything the agents needed for all the coming's and goings.
When the Shuttle merged with mainline most of the 8 dispatchers went to Pittsburgh but some left so as not to move. I imagine it's still being used by ops?
I remember the Kids Days....then they brought in the Tomcat's!

More like SWA, the former Frontier Station Manager is now the SWA Station Manager so he knew it was coming.Originally Posted by cancidas

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
