FedEx MD-10's departed before you got to HoBe. They drop in the evening after the light's lost and depart in the early am.

Hopefully I'll be able to catch a few over the summer months, once we get some longer daylight hours (starting next week!).
Phil Gengler - NYCA's "other Phil"
Once again tons of fun and laughs. Here are some of my from from Howard Beach and Firestone. Take care and hope to see you all out there soon, Brian
great pictures to you all!!!! I love the bank shots of Etihad A345, Korean Air 744, JAL 744, TAM A332, Air China Cargo 744F & Thai A345.....
Its a shame that I wont be photographing for a while now because my camera got seriously damaged while spotting the LGA arrivals a few days ago... I may not be getting a new camera for at least 2 or 3 months, maybe less.. im trying to save money for a DSLR from either Sony or Nikon..... But once again, great shots out there...
Sergio has been a huge Delta Air Lines fan since 1992!!

I actually missed a Evergreen 742 taking off at HoBe because I stopped to get this (Ironic).
First Evergreen I ever saw that did low banking departure that way we like.
Watched it as I was crossing over the bridge.

Barry, you may be onto something with this prime thing...I'm gonna have to find a 400 f/5.6 or a 300 f/4 IS to rent one of these weekends :)
I will be happy with what I got.

Thanks for the compliments.
Kenny, that what I was thinking when I saw the Abercrombie & Kent bird posted. Saw it land but.....
I thought I went unscathed by staying at HoBe especially when the Virgin jet was an A340 instead of the 744.
BTW, I used the little helper (1.4x extender) on the 400mm for the Air India 777 and Lufthansa A340. The light was already toast for the bank over the bridges. I was praying that I had them in focus.
Also, the Atlas Air 742 that landed on 31L was missing a HUGE amount of paint on the left side just aft of the wing. At first it looked a special scheme until it turned off the runway.
Adam, both lenses are extremely sharp. Enjoy !
