Does anyone know if it be too far from the ramp area to take pics of departing aircraft if they were using 31?
Thanks,
Cary
Late Friday Night Pre Kids Day update.
Based on forecasted winds and with the 4-22 closeure should be up and down 31 all day. Event will be at same location as last two years (Echo Parking) so for photographers not as close to the action as 22 last year but some nice dept shots are very do-able from that location, many aircraft make a right turn to heading three-four-zero just abeam our location.
A Few of the Military birds might or might not make it but the star of the show I feel, the C-130 Hercules will be their for sure. I understand this is a search and rescue aircraft that includes ski's and JATO assist for departure, maybe they will demonstrate when they leave ?
While US will have a normall 319 on display I did make some phone calls and got our newest Special Scheme 319, N717UW Carolina Panthers swithched to the Shuttle for 3 LGA Visits. Arriving LGA @ 0909, 1304, and 1707 the latter should have nice light on 31, and departures at 1000, 1400, and 1800, the middle one should be very shootable from our location, hopefully this will not change, if it does not my gift to you with one other very small possible one TBA tommorow.
I hope everyone has a great time tommorow and hope to see many of you at Kids Day !
Cheers
LGA777
Looks like the Hawkeye and the F18's will not be making it. I was told they pulled out at the last second....oh well at least the C130 will be awesome!

To get there via public transportation, you can take various buses, all reachable by the subway:
--you can catch the M60 bus at various points along its length: it starts at 106th & B'way and then goes up to 125th and across the Triborough Bridge to LGA. It stops at several subway stops: the 110th St stop on the 1 train, the 125th St stop on the A/B/C/D, the 125th St stop on the 2/3, the Harlem-125th St stop on the Metro-North, the 125th St stop on the 4/5/6, and the Astoria Blvd stop on the N/W. The M60 goes right by Planeview Park, then hits all the terminals, saving the Marine Air Terminal for last.
--you can also take the E/F/G/R/V/7 trains to the 74th Ave/Jackson Heights stop, then take the Q47 to the Marine Air Terminal (or the Q33, but it doesn't go to the MAT; you'll have to go to one of the other terminals, then change to the free shuttle bus.)
Ill be heading to LGA around 9am with 2 kids i babysit, Ill see everyone at the Kids day.!

Great pics! I should have introduced myself...I was the guy in the Cowboys cap and the Skycatcher t-shirt.
Anyways it was a neat event. It was great to meet Phil, Melanie, and Gothamspotter for the first time.
