It's kind of disorienting if you're not expecting it because it's just like the 9L approach until about 2 minutes before landing. It probably saves Air Jamaica some taxi time, as the international terminal is near the end of 13.
You're right Adam - it's interesting to see them do a 13 approach - it's the 9L approach until about 5DME and then a sharp left and right turn for the visual 13. I flew it on Flight Sim the other night - was interesting!
