    Summer jobs

So I just got turned down for my summer job that I had last year. I come to all of you because you all have been in my position before. What did you guys do when you were 15 and needed money? Or do you know anywhere that I might be able to get a job?

Local bowling alleys usually employ summer help.

My first job was paying me $4.75 at Sunken Meadow Beach.. It wasn't all that bad. I've had more jobs than you've had birthdays.

the beach is a nice gig, lots of nice eye candy to boot.

But at 15, I worked at KB toys. OK pay and A/C all summer long ;)
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

I worked at Waldbuams, not a bad gig. All my firends worked there and the pay at the time was pretty good. Try to see if your local township has summer jobs.

Go for Lifeguard, altho at 15 I don't know if you'd be strong enough to save anyone.

I worked as a Food Delivery Person in Long Beach. During the summer I got to deliver to all the beach clubs. I came home with some nice tips.

I can\'t drive yet so delivering is out of the question. I already have my first responder cert but no lifeguarding. A lot of the big companies now require you to be 16 to work there. Kinda pisses me off.

Look for local companies, most larger companies have rules for either hiring at 16 or 18. Check your local airport to see if they need a lineman.

actually, saying what i did to get money would get me into a lot of trouble, even today.

seriously though, go a mall or any local FBO. living in NYC always provided with a lot opportunities. not at 15, but a few summer jobs i had included towing cars in astoria, working for the NYC DEC as a driver. my first real job started off as a summer job when i was about 14, i started walking a dog. after that, worked in a travel agency (hated sabre then) and was a stock boy in a local grocery store.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
