But what about 3-engines??
Yes... 7000' is the minimum length for takeoff/landing/touch-and-goes. RWY 6/24 is 7006' and the TORA, ASDA and LDA is the same.
It's possible.. I was on tail 70118 - we saw a bunch of photographers standing by the fence on our taxi out to 34..
FWIW - The 135 and 10 you photographed were most likely not in the same package...
Travis bird flown by a McGuire crew..
Looks like those pilots really pranged a few of them on!
We left single ship that morning as GOLD01...
Nice! You didn't happen to be out there about 3 week ago (Satuday, April 11th)? There were a few spotters by the fence snapping pics as we taxied by and took off!
We used to go up there a lot more, but for a few reasons don't drop in as much.
Tougher to drop in during the winter months too when the weather/runway conditions are less favorable for...
Exactly my thoughts.. He bounced the heck outta that thing... "flare, flare... FLARE!"
Shorebird or Duke's?
Megatop - awesome story and pics! Thanks for sharing!
False - but probably too late in the game to get the ball rolling...
Would anyone happen to know the Point of Contact for the event?
I'm wondering if they've requested military static displays for the event through the US Aerial Events Support request form....
The weather actually was a lot better than originally forecast. Some sun but mainly high overcast clouds until mid-afternoon with gusty winds but no rain until the end of the show. About 2PM a line...
Agreed. My landings always seem to be better/smoother when there's a crosswind than when winds are calm!
Unfortunately, for most long-haul international pilots flying tired is just part of the job. "Backside of the clock" flying is really tough on the body; there's no good way around not being tired...

I've heard all those tables with the large computers and equipment on them turn upside down into craps and blackjack tables along with fully stocked bars!

Hey now, there is at least still one DC-10 operator that carries pax!
It's a sad day for "Big Sexy" and all her fans around the world. The DC-10 is such an awesome airplane to fly - it's...
Fatigue, complacency and loss of situational awareness... Most likely the 3 main reasons behind this.
DC-10 captain... oh wait... never mind...
My dream job would involve private luxury airplanes - sitting in the back of one eating caviar and drinking champagne!
What sector do you control?
We already have been...
Hmmm, imagine that.. The Air Force can't get enough people who signed up to fly real airplanes to go fly drones... Did it really take a year long study for them to realize why???
