They are departing slowly. Two jets went up by themselves, then a flight of 3 then 25 minutes later another flight of 3. Looks like another group ready to go out.

Outstanding job on the photos guys, great job!
I have been observing this thread for the past few days and all I can say is.....boy did you guys do this show right. Fantastic images and I'm very jealous I wasn't there(especially given the F-35)! As usual we have excellent coverage from the field AND the show itself. John, Mark, Fred, and Gerard with those videos, and others that made this thread epic....THANK YOU
I was very sorry to hear about the ditching of Jackie's Revenge. Rest in peace to her pilot, Bill Gordon.
All is quiet at the terminal as of 930AM Wed.
#5 sits on the tarmac like a cooler left on a porch after a house party, filled with warm beer cans and melted ice.
BA 5 is still on the ramp at the main terminal.
The team is scheduled to practice today in Pensacola Fl today at 11:30 AM CDT (12:30) our time.
Don't know how the practice will affect Fat Albert coming in for the repairs to #5
The team is supposed to transit to Tenn tomorrow for their next show.
Fat Albert due into Republic at 1:30pm
Bert on the ground.
Get your butts to the terminal now. He's along the fence unobstructed.
Here are my favorite few shots from this weekend, and a link to the entire gallery. Look for Jared in the Golden Knights jet!

Not sure if #5 is still at FRG, but Fat Albert just took off a few minutes ago heading west.
Thoroughly enjoyed the show this year. Best one since 2012. It seemed to go by so fast at the beach! Please have a look at my YT channel for my videos just posted. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdd...00VR6EyeN22oMQ Thanks!
I absolutely agree!! 3 jet teams!! 4 high performance teams when you count the Geico Team who always put on a tremendous show!! The F-16 doing his thing and the Heritage Flight along with the Golden Knights and the acrobatic soloists!! Just great great stuff!!! And the action at FRG was amazing especially with the use of Runway 14 for the Angels all weekend though they originally came in on 32 Thursday!! Great location along 110 to watch them come in and zoom right over your heads!! No trees in thew way!! And not crazy like New Highway!! I know the savvy fans watched them depart 14 on New Highway then drive over to watch them by Rt 110.
And I know this is WAY EARLY but usually the military teams switch off year to year so next year we probably get the Thunderbirds!! What can we do to have them use FRG? Theyve done it before!! Makes the weekend experience so much better!! Are they anti-social? LOL!! Anyway just a thought!:eek::mad:
From what I understand they need only like an additional 250 feet more than what FRG has for some reason. Seems like its not much, but thats their directive. I do recall last time they were at FRG most of their takeoffs were in burner. Not sure if that was to make noise for the crowd or because of the "short" runway.
Regardless of the reason, it stinks they cant base out of FRG.
OMG just got an alert that a Blue Angel just crashed during practice in Tennessee!! Wow this is not good!
Still no word on the condition of the pilot. My stomach is in knots right now....
Edit:
Just got notification that one of the Thunderbird's F-16 also crashed just earlier in Colorado. The pilot ejected safely.
Is #5 still at FRG with a broken wing?
They are saying one dead in Tennessee but not saying it was the pilot. This is just terrible news. Was reading about the Thunderbirds crash when word popes up about the Blue Angel crash. They said it was a solo and someone got grainy video but can't make much out. Hope the pilot ejected.
Airshow News is showing a pic of 1,2,3, 7 in 4's position, and 5 after the incident
Both teams suffer crashes on the same day at virtually the same time? How does that even happen? Insane.
NBC news is reporting that the Blue Angles pilot is believed to be dead.
I am at a loss for words...
Edit:
It's confirmed...the pilot did not make it.
Very sad.
Which # was it?
This is truly sad news
Sadly ABC just confirmed it!! Just awful. Said he couldn't eject.
And just saw a picture of the Thunderbird and it looks in pretty good shape, considering!!
But after spending numerous days watching the Blue Angels soar over the skies of Long Island, my heart goes out to the family and colleagues of the pilot!! Just awful!!
Fair skies Capt. Kuss... You inspired and awed many...

Saw on the Tennessee Air Show Website that the show will go on. The Beitling Team are now the headliners.
I wonder how long the Angels will stand down or they just might cancel the rest of the summer performances. Same with the Thunderbirds.
And with the Angels grounded # 5 might be sitting there awhile.
