It's actually not that uncommon to see USMC Seaknights/Chinooks doing flight ops over the Great South Bay during the summer. I've must have seen it 3-4 times in the past 2 years.

N314RG, a Sikorsky 92 has just arrived at Republic, on Atlantic's ramp.
I stopped down for a few hours of stuffing this afternoon after battening hatches at home. There isn't much more room in that place right now - about the only things they have on the ramp are the F-105, F-111, T-33, a couple of other small non-flying aircraft, and a few trucks (as a buffer next to a couple of those tied town aircraft). Assuming there is no damage, it's going to take most of the week to get everything back into place for Labor Day weekend.
