Thats why I get worried when I park outside of the fence.
Also I do have a scanner, but is there a way to listen to KFRG live from the internet?

Looks like a little Saturn went through (actually under) the fence down along New Highway. There were a few posts knocked down, and the bottom of the fence was torn up, but the fence looked to be intact for the most part. There were about 6 police cars, two or three fire trucks, two ambulances, and several airport vehicles on the scene. I don't know that the driver suffered any injuries, I later saw the ambulances leave at a normal speed without sirens, etc. and it didn't look like there was significant damage to the car. As you can see, he got through the fence, across the access road, and onto the grass.
Hey John just saw this in Newsday.

Still trying to figure out where the wall was?
Wow, that's sad to hear. I wonder if she had a medical problem that caused the crash, because from the looks of the car, I wouldn't think the crash was severe enough to cause her death.
From your pictures and report I was thinking the same thing.Quote:

Only as dangerous as you make it. The peeps here who frequent FRG know how to drive on that road and respect its crappiness!!
But I've had idiots who see that open road and think they are at a NASCAR race and go blasting past me.

I am surprisedthey haven't kept up with the road because an airport is right next to it, I am always sacred when I park next to it because some people dont know how to drive.

Thats sad, thats on the grave yard side right? The KFRG isnt as bad, but still bad. Why dont we all complain to TOB? I always see troopers but they are never there when some person is speeding or they ignore it.Quote:

I took it with my 2.0MP camera phone(sorry about the quality)....as you can see on the F4U the prop got ripped off and had a huge crack.....Does anyone have a clue of what happened??
All the aircraft displayed behind the 56th are fiberglass replicas, not actual aircraft.
Most of us who have spent any amount of time at FRG have seen this bad boy around the air patch (this is a shot from last summer). It's a 2008 Embraer EMB-135BJ. The N-number is - or at least was - N18BM. I recently found out what the BM stood for - Bernie Madoff. I found it now registered as N924AK, to the same Syosset-based charter company.
