I wonder how long it takes him to fly the Helo from Cali.

I hope I can catch that C-130 on the rebound when it comes back to get that equipment
Great to see Chuck Aaron's Red Bull BO-105 is fixed and has arrived at FRG already !! :borat:Quote:

Confirmed. The runway change due to the Cessna spill screwed us royally though.
BTW, I see the DIRECTV Blimp is flying over Citi Field tonight for the Subway Series,
and was just wondering if anyone knows if it will be based at FRG this weekend ??
I was there this afternoon and didn't see it so I'm assuming it's coming out of Jersey or Westchester again.
The arresting gear is set!
I saw them working on that this afternoon - and fortunately, there were no 172s that needed it today... :shock:Quote:

Let's try to keep the FRG air show traffic in the air show threads. Thanks!
So the "Today At Farmingdale 2008/2009" thread is officially closed after 66 excellent pages and we will continue onward and upward with this thread for everything NOT air show related.Quote:

I liked the old thread as people would stumble upon it and be able to see the last few years at KFRG. I have had Airport admins to people in the parking lot comment about how they could not believe all the cool stuff that has visited. If the thread is 10 pages or 200, I always click on the last page to see the updates? Why did the old thread needed to be closed? :(
It's sad to see the old one go. It's filled with a lot of memories.
So if we have any information on arrivals to FRG we should put it in the arrival thread?
FYI USMC F-18's are due in May 28th at 17:30 :borat:
Thanks!Quote:

Lots O' F-18's this year!
Anyone know when Kirby Chambliss is coming? I'd love to see him buzz the FRG tower.
no ETA as of yet, sorry
This was posted in the other thread but here is a PM sent to me from Maj Johnnie "Dusty" Green

Hey guys. I didn't know where to ask this, but I didn't think it was worthy of its own thread.
What is the largest aircraft that you have seen (or heard of) landing/taking off at FRG? I have seen some 737's when teams fly in, but that's about it.
The two largest I've personally seen are the 757 - actually a USAF C-32 flying as Air Force 1 - along with the C-17 that brings the Thunderbirds team gear in for the airshow.

And while I never saw it myself, friends who worked for Fairchild-Republic back when they were building A-10s tell of the time a C-5 dropped in to FRG, back in the mid-70s.
I can only imagine what a plane of that size would look like a few hundred feet above my house.Quote:

Do I count 13 Hornets based at Republic this weekend? Mind you I just failed Math so there's a good chance I'm wrong :P

Anyway, with at least 13 to 14 Hornets at FRG this weekend it will definitely
be known as the "HORNETS NEST" now for sure !! :borat:
I think it should be named Republic Naval Air Station for this week.
I could not tell you where the USMC Hornets are coming from, I can only tell you that they were told to make room for 4. As always, airshow is a fluid operation and always changing and rarely calm. I am only saying what I was told.... Never know what will happen!!! :borat:
