ALB 2/26 - Spotting in the snow
ALB was running arrivals to the East for much of the morning. Landing rwy 10 is very unusual so I thought that I'd head over during lunch and see what I could see. Weather was questionable. Wouldn't you know, they switched to runway 1 and we got a snow squall. Oh well ... On a positive note (for me anyway) we got a couple of diverts from LGA while I was there.
All shots taken from location C on your ALB spotting map:
Snow banks in the spotting area were tall enough to see over the fence when stood upon. I did get honked at by traffic passing by though.

Sharpening does not seem helpful on those snow shots.
I hope that you enjoy them,
Dan

Re: ALB 2/26 - Spotting in the snow
Thanks for the nice replies! I would not normally have gone out in the snow. It was a bit of a surprise squall. But as long as I was there - what the heck. Gotta love digital.
I tried to keep shutter speeds up to try and freeze the flakes. Still looks mostly like noise anyway. I didn't think that Citrus came out too bad - from a snow effect point of view.
No point in submitting any of these to the usual sites - I just thought some might enjoy them here. I always enjoy everyone else's pictures here.

Good stuff Dan, it's nice to see some weather shots for a change.

The DC-9 shot is spectacular! Nothing beats getting great results in less-than-perfect conditions....
Re: ALB 2/26 - Spotting in the snow
Love the NWA DC-9. Wonder why they diverted.

Apparently there was weather in NY that day (last Friday). Besides the LGA diverts that I saw, there were two jetblue red eye diversions first thing in the morning. I think that I remember that you guys were getting snow that morning.
