Something else to mention is that she left this morning at 8:39 am which is very off from the normal Finnair 6.
According to Wikipedia, Finnair's 757's are for charter only. I was actually on my way back from the terminal at 7:45 when I saw the Finnair tail and winglets. I grabbed my camera out of my car and ran back to get some pictures. I was amazed to see it there, because their MD-11's are normally well into the pm when they arrive and leave.
The 757-200 was operating the regular HEL-JFK-HEL flight Finnair 5/6. I believe the 757-200's were used for charters only in the past but now I believe they are used on some scheduled flights.Quote:

What a catch Stephen!
Finnair used/uses 752's on HEL-BOS-HEL and on HEL-YYZ-HEL routes, which are seasonal regular flights.
Alright I figured out why it was used. Due to engine troubles with the MD-11 they used a 757-200 instead and because the same crew flew the plane back they needed a 14 hour layover.
Iberia, thanks for the info. May I ask how you found that out? By the way, I'm sure the passengers were thrilled with that arrangement.
