Brussels Airlines IAD Launch 6/18

Yesterday, June 18th, marked the inaugural flight of Brussels Airlines between BRU and IAD. The flight will operate 5 times a week with Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The launch came almost a year after Brussels Airlines started flights to JFK and we welcomed the Lufthansa 747-8i to IAD.

With the exception of a few speeches at the gate and a ribbon cutting ceremony, there were not many festivities that occurred, though it was certainly a long day for me and the rest of my team. The weather was pretty awful for the majority of the day but the sun decided to make an appearance just as water canon began to arch over the aircraft!
