Palm Springs 12/29/13 Magic Plane
-
That Westjet - simply incredible...
Others are as well...
-
Wow, you got quite a bit of variety, and more important, great weather.
-
Thanks Gintaras and Felipe! Yes the weather helped, especially during the approx 30 min lulls between arrivals and departures
-
Great catches! Well done. That Mickey is one of the coolest color schemes ever.
-
I agree, one of the coolest looking paint schemes ever!
-
Well done! I never knew Palm Springs had traffic like that. Always figured it was more CRJs and such. Where was your location? And did you visit the museum they have there?
-
I was at two locations, one for the first shot and one for the rest seen on this thread. The first is the sidewalk along Gene Autry Trail, which is a street that runs along the east side of the airport. The good thing about this spot is the background you get, the bad thing is it really only good early in the morning when the sun is rising. The other location is a pair of park benches located just off the road on Kirk Douglas Way. Standing on top of the benches allows for easy shooting of afternoon arrivals. You can also walk up to the fence and shoot through it for stuff taxiing up to runway 31L or traffic rolling out and exiting runway 13R. Steve, I did go to the museum but haven't edited any of the shots I took yet. I will do that soon!

Nice set and nice background too. That WestJet scheme is awesome!

I think, it could be one of most prized possessions in every NYC spotters aircraft photo collection.

I was able to track it via the Plane Finder app for iphone, thats how I was able to know it was coming that day. The Alaska special, however, was a complete surprise!

Great Scenery and Pics!
