I stand by my original correct stance:
Success is not always defined in tangible dollars and sense.
PS: ever notice that the shorter sweet answers are always correct?
Actually my dollars did invest into it and the output is immeasurable.
says you.... If my dollar can put 3x the ammount of space junk in space in less time... I can measure that and would say that it was not immeasurable, rather I would say that it was wasting 3/4's of my tax dollars.
Pro Shuttle: But it looked cooler when the shuttle did it....that should be worth billions right???
Staring a new bag of popcorn....this looks like it's going to get interesting again.
Between my flight on Concorde as well as certain Concorde memorabilia, it was an invaluable investment that I cannot put a dollar amount on.
You know, using your parlance, I suppose we are all failures for having kids unless they create millions. However, we know will cost us a lot more yet we value them (least most of us do...)
but because you enjoyed the Concorde ride does not make it a success.... I think I have been on the flightdeck of every Concorde from BA and Airfrance...I have Concorde Silverware and nicknacks from the Concorde. I love the Concorde like you, but it does not make it a success.
Kids are different for every parent, some use children successes as their own, others use children to carry on the family name, others look to children to help provide for the family in fields growing up and for taking care of the parents when they get too old to work.
When the Concorde was made, it was suppose to revolutionize aviation as we know it and it was going to make the British (and French) aerospace industry second to none. It was going to create jobs all over Europe as thousands of them took to the skys and had to be supported.
FAIL
Don't hate the player, Hate the game if failed in!
Actually the Concorde bathrooms worked pretty well, that was a success!
Concorde was born of BAC/Aero blood, which is the current EADS/Airbus bloodline. Therefore Concorde's technology, innovation and marketing helped propel Airbus to what it is today. And speaking of today....
Airbus trounced Boeing in Paris.
Success in which Concorde played a role.
So, take that:

Tom, we'd had this discussion years ago. Of course IRO is important.
Concorde put Airbus on the map. While AB did not make the ROI on Concorde, the image and marketing, like the A380, will reap much more.
Appears to be a typo.
As for STDs....not too familiar with them. Perhaps yo:tongue:u can elaborate?
