Re: Interesting Planes You Have Worked On or Been On
just today got to sit in the left seat of V-22 166743 of VMM-365 onboard the USS New York. the captain that was sitting on the flight deck went to the same school as me, a few years earlier of course. glad to see another riddle-diddle from the Prescott campus.
Re: Interesting Planes You Have Worked On or Been On
I totally forgot about some of the more recent planes I have been on. They are starting to come back into memory. Airshows don't count. Yea TOM T. go on and post that blasted AN-225 shot..By the time I got a chance to get on it they pulled air stairs away and no one was around to get me on.

Re: Interesting Planes You Have Worked On or Been On
Day in, day out I am currently only working on Cirrus SR-20's and SR-22's up near SWF, but in the past Ive had the opportunity to work with the P-38 "Glacier Girl", and a ground up restoration of an USAF O-2A (Cessna 337) which actually had been flown in combat...
Re: Interesting Planes You Have Worked On or Been On
Lax Goaly,
Thats pretty cool I missed that P-38 at TEB BTW.
So you were, are into Lacrosse? I played it when I was in High School. I LOVE the game.

Re: Interesting Planes You Have Worked On or Been On
I havent been on that many interesting ones but I used to work for ATA at the old Indianapolis hub back in 2004-05. I worked many of our military charters which were usually operated by 753s or L1011s. I worked on every TriStar we had including, most notibly, N194AT, one of my favorite planes of all time
Re: Interesting Planes You Have Worked On or Been On
I have been flying DC-3s for 22 years,God's grace, everywhere from Boston to Bang-kok,even to our beloved JFK(Canarsie approach over the old sod),and KEWR,then I was a freightdog, now I'm just an airshow guy, flying the Yankee Air Force's lovely C-47 N8704, all over the midwest, and thanking God,for every 1/10th of an hour logged. I love this airplane with a passion purple.
Re: Interesting Planes You Have Worked On or Been On
Hmm. flight wise most recent was an AA MD-82. sadly I was unable to get the tail #. all I got to go is is that it was one of the few that still had a black nose. Flown on 767-200 and -300. U.S. 757, A320, A319, A321. But been on hands down 747 classic. I miss those babies. also been on a 747-300. not many of those around. also been on a -200 and -400. Now i'm waiting on the -8 so i can once again been on the entire 747 line
Re: Interesting Planes You Have Worked On or Been On
I had forgotten this when I replied earlier, but I have been inside the E-4B Command Post aircraft. That was back in the mid-80s when it flew the "NEACP" (National Emergency Airborne Command Post) mission. It was a regular visitor to Grissom AFB, where it would sit alert when POTUS was in the general area. One day they allowed a bunch of us sitting KC-135 alert to take a tour of the aircraft, but despite our "Top Secret" clearances, we didn't get to see much of the "Secret Squirrel" stuff they had on board.
Re: Interesting Planes You Have Worked On or Been On
Well if this is any cosolation to what seems like my lame stuff i've seen airforce one i've taken a picture of AF1  the pinacle of risky right there.
Re: Interesting Planes You Have Worked On or Been On
I have worked on the P-3 Orion, A-3 Skywarrior, F-14 Tomcat, F-4 Phanthom, C-5 Galaxy, and others. Flew on the C-141 & P-3 Orion....
Re: Interesting Planes You Have Worked On or Been On
Not as exciting as some of the other aircraft posted here, but I was lucky enough to fly on one of the few remaining A320-100s (MAD-CDG) last year.
Re: Interesting Planes You Have Worked On or Been On
eh there gone so soon for a reason. anyway i cant believe i forgot this but i actually taxied N850FT long time ago. old 747-100 BCF there when polar was at building 87 at JFK. man i miss those times. Its sitting somewhere in preswick now waiting to be scrapped. most of those older planes have either been scrapped or put away. the only ex polar 747-200 that i know of that it still flying is N806FT a 747-249F/SCD now N706CK flying with Kalita Air. Its currently sitting at JFK.
Edit: after searching around more ex polar 747's are still flying. N854FT now N712CK a 747-122SF. N924FT as N701CK a 747-251BSF. note flying tigers never owned 701. All the others are either stored, scrapped or waiting to be scrapped. One is a ground trainer at prestwick.
