Good and Funny Military Flying Stories

Between stories that I've heard from Moose, and working for an airline with many former Air Force and Navy pilots, I hear some pretty great stories.

I just heard one where a pilot flying C-9's for the Navy (mil version of the DC-9) was on his way to Hawaii with two fighter escorts. The fighters were bored and spent their time by showing off with a few cool moves, various flips and rolls and such. At one point, the C-9 pilot says "Oh yeah? Well check this out." After a little while, the fighter radios him and says "I didn't see anything." The C-9 pilot responded "Oh, I walked in back, went to the bathroom, made a steak, had a power nap." I thought that was hysterical.

One amazing story I heard involved an F-106A Delta Dart, where the pilot ejected while in a flat spin, and the aircraft continued to land itself in a patch of snow, and was later returned to flying status!
