It would be SHOCKING to me if AA goes the way of Pan Am and TWA, but then again, GM went bankrupt too...
Guess I should bust ba**s and get that American Retro- is that even still around?
American's management is going away but the brand is not. US Airways will keep the AA brand when they take over. The US Airways brand will be the one to disappear.

For the record, I concur. And of course on a technicality, US Airways did go extinct - they are America West flying as US Airways. And from what I read, the same would happen with AA.
