Being they use MD-80's for the new service the "Roars" in the article title is extremely appropriate and I'm sure intentional !

Oh yea when they used to depart 16 at IFP the residents would get pissed. Their houses shook.
Relatively short drive? How about 1:30 hours with no traffic? Good luck where there is traffic!

Close in our minds, maybe not. But in the minds of those looking to fly the type of service Allegiant provides (low fares to outlying airports), they'll make that drive in order to save a buck. And 50 miles away or not, SWF is still considered a NYC-area airport.Quote:

I dispatch into there frequently but try to avoid using it as an alternate. Being the valley it is susceptible to fog and often has worse weather than the destination airport anyway.
Glad they have more options though :)
