Mike, AAA doesn't cover 1909 Curtiss Pushers in the event of running out of gas lol.
Mark, that is Kermit Weeks. I'd hate to have his problems.
I'm not sure if it's him or not, but Bob Coolbaugh, a retired Navy Commander from Virginia built and flew a Ely Curtiss reproduction in 2011. He landed at Floyd Bennett Field and the plane was on display at the Historic Aircraft Restoration Project hangar. (I ran into him and his project on a random bike ride to FBF; my pictures are still on my phone....gah!) Coolbaugh also flew over the Intrepid for Fleet Week: http://elycurtisspusher.com/photos/#
