Outgoing to IAD? No ramp space at the JFK for government aircraft?
No, most stuff doesn't stay at JFK. A lot of it goes to SWF after dropping pax at JFK. Quieter and easier to secure there.
Fasil .... According to a PANYNJ document I saw on the web (see below):
"“What are Port Authority of NY & NJ aircraft parking limitations?”• Kennedy, Newark, LaGuardia and Teterboro Airports all have a two (2) hour standing limit for diplomatically cleared flights during UNGA.
• Aircraft are required to unload the dignitary/delegation and reposition the aircraft to another location within this two (2) hour window.
• This is strictly enforced by all four airport authorities."
Yea, there is a 2 hour limit at JFK. However, my JFK ops buddy tells me that so very often, some of these guys land and say "oh, the planes broken, we cant leave." But when the VIP is ready to leave, the plane is magically fixed! lol
Jason .... Not many aircraft stick around if at all after they come in. Drop the goods and leave! Maybe the Port Authority should tow illegally parked planes during UN Week and charge a hefty fee to get them back! That should teach a lesson to those foreign dignitaries.
Does anyone have an estimate of what day might have the most traffic? I'm planning on going on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
Those should be good days
Uzbekistan UZB101 is now enroute to JFK for a 7am arrival. That's way earlier than the usual arrival time so I wonder if this is a VIP flight.
Fasil .... That's a regular commercial flight.
UZB101 is actually on approach now. I think we all forgot about that stop they make along the way.
I'll be out both days this weekend with a new toy (Sigma 120-300 f/2.8) and some friends who aren't into aviation but have always been curious about the hobby.
(Sorry, Nick, Mark, and Sergio - no Meg, she and I are no longer a thing, so you'll have to find another ass to distract you - maybe mine, if I should be so lucky?)
Antonis
Anyone going out to shoot tomorrow (wednesday) morn? Id be keen to tag along and meet some jfk regulars. So long as you don't mind picking me up at the airline terminal and dropping me off before 1pm.
When are the best days to be up there? I realize arrivals will be all week, but when will the bulk of diplomatic traffic arrive?
Ill be out tomorrow morning early!! and through out the whole weekend.. Tis sorry to hear about your breakup.. Chill with us spotting this weekend and start over..
i se today n767SK AND THE A330 OF QATAR
I believe the French Air Force is enroute. http://fr24.com/A342
Wondering if the French will reposition to FRG as they've done in past years.
Well we had a C17 here once. One can hope lol.
Well, that was to support the Thunderbirds. And remember, unlike an A340, the C-17 has actual take off performance. The A340 would be half way to Huntington still trying to get off the ground!
;-)
I don't know the A340 disappeared in the pond and never reappeared.
Not sure if it's related, but an Emirates Government 77W was sitting at Dulles last night. Stunning bird.
Ben I am not loosing my mind. At the time of my previous post she was visible right around Kuwait117 and now she is off again. I am pretty sure she will re appear at some point or is it possible she turned of her ADS-B? Also not visible on planefinder only flightraddar24 so far.
Attention JFK SPOTTERS Unknown A340 is inbound then heading to IAD.
Fasil ... Can u paste the link or provide additional info on the Air France. I don't see it

Can't find much about this bird online.
The A340 is now descending to Boston.
I got intelligence from WBSG she landed as Saudi 002 heavy and identified as HZ-HMS2.
reg for that 77W is A6-SIL

Apparently it's nothing special. Sorry
<-- WBSG intelligence :)
I'm heading up to JFK from PHL. I'll be at Panera by Noon. I have a black Explorer with Penn St. tags. Hope for interesting stuff today.
