Teacher Accused Of Having Sex With Student, 13

(WCCO) A middle school teacher in Prescott, Wis. has been fired and the Pierce County Sheriff is investigating claims she had sex with a 13-year-old student.

"It's just shocking to hit Prescott like this," said Tom Riley a Prescott resident.

The 38-year-old woman was a substitute at Prescott Middle School.

The student's father said he found the two having a middle of the night rendezvous together at the teacher's home after the boy stole his mother's car.

Sources said the woman's husband and 13-year-old daughter were home at the time.

The father filed a restraining order which claims the two had sexual intercourse. He said he has copies of e-mails between the two.

Zach Simones, who coached the 13-year-old boy on the seventh grade football team, said he is sickened by the incident.

"He was dating the lady's 13-year-old daughter before this happened," said Simones.

The woman taught at both the middle and high schools, but the superintendent said his investigation has turned up no other students who were involved with this woman.

The school superintendent also said the teacher and student did not meet in the classroom.

The Pierce County Sheriff confirms that they are investigating.

How often we hear in the news about a teacher-student sexual activity

If it were a male teacher with a female student:
a) you'd hear a lot more about it
b) the male teacher would get a longer and harsher punishment

After all these cases lately, I think it's clear that we need to shut down all schools.

No, we need tosend me back to school! LOL JK JK in all seriousness it is only beginning to happen more and more. Is there a lets nail students association out there that these teachrs belong to or something.

I disaree, I think male teachers having sex with 13-16 year olds female students happens more than you think. Problem with this scenario is that after a few it gets old. Reverse it and throw in a female teacher and the news stations run with it and it gets much more press. As for the punishment I think they tend to try to make examples out of the female teachers more than the males. It's almost as if the male teacher that has sex with a 15 year old (though illegal and bad judgment) is not the same as when a female thirtysomething has sex with a young boy. She is viewed in a whole different light.

Only recently did the older female situations start getting attention, and the penalties harsher for them.

They are looked at in differnet light, as said. The older mesn are looked at as predators more, and the older women are looked at jut as disturbed, I think.
