the plane was N8270M operated by Nassau Flyers, Inc. even though i rent from NFI i never flew that plane. i do remember the tail number from the radios during the fleet launches.
sorry mike...
Any word on the type of aircraft? Or the condition of the folks on board?
I used to rent their Arrow--seemed a little ratty at the time.
I hope everyone's ok.
Where at Robert Moses did they land?
Right on the beach?
no i don't think it was the arrow... it was either a cherokee or a warrior. again, i didn't fly thier piper fleet so i don't know exactly.
vodkagirl, it crashed in one of the lightly wooded areas. no trees or large stuff, just some small bushes.
Newsday is reporting it as a Cherokee that landed in the dunes between fields 2 & 3. 3 aboard, all treated & released at a local hospital.

I wonder what the problem was? Thank god there weren't any people parked in the parking lot, than there would have been a problem.
