I came across this link regarding the Concorde model that is now at Cradle of Aviation. Have a look.
Why couldn't the American Air Power Museum take it? Seems like an odd tiny museum to consider in the article

For starters, there is no where for the AAM to put something that large. It's 102 feet long, with a 42 foot wingspan - to put that in perspective, the museum's C-47 is 65 feet long, with a 95 foot wingspan. Even if they could put it someplace, and even if they had the money to move it, it doesn't fit with the AAM's focus on World War II and other related military history. It's a neat subject, but it's huge, and many places would have a hard time finding someplace to display it.

I understand that a tiny museum in rural New Jersey will take the model but needs $10,000 in donations or the model will get scrapped. Why can't British Airways donate? It bears their logo and would be great for advertisement? I guess they now want nothing to do with Concorde. How quickly they forget the Glory Days !

BA won't spend money on something like that! They won't even spend money on the one at the Intrepid. The conditions of donation were that whoever took them had to keep up with any maintenance required.

They even broke up a lot of their old aircraft at Cosford Museum in England because they didn't want to pay for the upkeep.

IMHO the British Govt. should have made BA keep paying for their upkeep as they were a significant part of British history, because the types were all British built, but the Govt is in BA's pocket so they just let them do whatever they want.
