The end of the line...

After Delta finally withdrew the last of their DC-9s from scheduled service this month, today we saw the real "final flights" of the old gal. Two flights departed ATL this morning, one to Thief River Falls, in northwest Minnesota (don't ask me why...) and the second coming into CLT, where it will be on display at the Carolinas Aviation Museum. I was able to get out to the airport for an extended lunch break and caught the arrival. Apparently, they actually delayed their departure to CLT so as to leave after the other aircraft and be the final flight.

Ive recently heard that PAWA Dominicana is likely to purchase about 20 DL DC-9s! So it looks like those 9s might still be alive a little longer, just not with DL.
