A trip to Florida on an Eastern DC-9 got me into planes back in 1983. Jeez I can't believe how long ago that seems. Sad to see them go

Great coverage, Brian

I have about 85 hours logged in the DC9,45 hrs in the -15, and 40 in the -30, the -15 was a pilots joy, blessed with the lightest ailerons I have ever experienced on a transport, the 30 felt a mite underpowered, but I was and am a completely biased 727 fan when it comes to mid size jets.

Nice read! I took my last ride in May 2001, thinking they'd retire soon lol!,,,
