Nice article, and good to hear it was so easy. I just got an AMEX Platinum Card which refunds the $100 application fee for Global Entry so I just applied. My only complaint is that after I was "pre-approved" the earliest interview date wasn't until mid-September. Seems like a long time to have to wait to answer a few questions in a face-to-face interview.

Which location did you attempt to sign up at? I have heard that Boston has a wait until November(!). I think you might just want to walk and and try your luck.
