If it's like most of these companies, the new outfit ends up hiring most of the old guards.

......better training!

Here's hoping that any training is given by somebody who has actually read the rules. Now I'm sure PANYNJ would never confirm or deny this, but I wonder if sleeping-gate and the wannabe Weiner had anything to do with this?

Like any new hire, one would imagine the Allied Barton guys will be on their best behavior (at least out of the gate). What that will mean for us spotters remains to be seen. My hope is that they don't use us as their "proving grounds". You know, to show the bosses they're doing their job... "Hey Sarge, looky what I got! I done caught me a spotter. Do I get a gold star?" Get my drift?

That is an excellent point, Don. It worries me a bit with UN week taking place not long after this new contract goes into effect. However, the PAPD has pretty reliably had our backs lately when we have had encounters with FJC, so hopefully that won't change. I know that my response if stopped will be the same as it has always been.

 So true. In Advertising it works the same way. An Ad agency loses an account because the client feels the creative sucks, or the service is sub-par. People at the agency lose their jobs and all run over to the agency that wins the account.

I feel the same way. The PAPD as of late seems to be realizing that we're not the bad guys. I hope this trend continues in our favor.

4L/22R @ EWR doesn't already have a high-speed taxiway? What genius forgot to add that in 2003

It's New Jersey, everything is a bit slower there...

As long as they don't contract with Argenbright. Back in the 90's one of their "guards" escorted me out of Terminal 3 for taking photos from behind glass at one of the waiting areas. He looked to me like he just was released from Guantanamo!
