News broke on Friday afternoon that an Ethopian Boeing 787, registration ET-AOP, “caught fire” according to several reports. Oh lord, here we go again. Looks too high in the cabin to be another battery issue, however bad press is bad press. I am sure someone at Boeing is praying this was a galley fire, IFE short circuit, anything but more electrical issues.

Don't they have wiring harnesses running through that area? Like more than one wire bundle?

Looks like it was right where the aft crew rest cabin is located.

EDIT: It seems like some people are saying ETH doesn't have a crew rest cabin...so maybe not :)

Latest reports are that investigators are looking at the ELT as a possible source.

Three days after a fire aboard an Ethiopian Airways 787 Dreamliner, investigators are focusing on what role the plane's emergency locating transmitter (ELT) may have played in the fire.
The ELT is a component on all commercial airplanes that sends out a signal during a crash to alert rescue crews on the location of the plane. It is always hooked up to a battery. Now investigators are trying to determine what role, if any, the Dreamliner's ELT played in Friday's fire. Honeywell, which makes the ELT in the Dreamliner, said it is working with investigators in the United Kingdom.

And no, the ELT battery isn't Li-Ion, it's Lithium Manganese...
