Looks like the pilot pulled a "Sully". Great job. Everyone out safely and cpoter still floating.
Pictures show what looks to be a Bell 206L which I believe NY Helicopter flies.

Pretty cool story and listen to the Live ATC at the bottom of the articxle as he calls MAYDAY to LGA Tower. The feed is a mix of ATC, PD Company Freq and two helos talking on a Company freq!!
