Hi guys, just curious if anyone has any info on N485EV. Ive seen it sitting on the ramp for months in the same spot. Anything I can find on it says its stored in MZJ since last year, but thats obviously not the case.

Oh... That would matter.

Evergreen lost their contract with the DoD, as far as I know. I guess they have no use for this 742 anymore, and they are stripping it where it sits.

I heard it is just engine service, not a dismantling...

What, seriously? It looks like they ripped the left outer engine off with a pair of safety scissors.

When I passed there on tuesday on the shuttle bus it looked like it had tape around the the pylon, definetly looks like the engine was sheered off

Yea, I would doubt that aircraft ever flies again

Coming home from work this morning and taking my preferred route down the Nassau Expressway past the cargo terminals for my daily dose of classic aviation (N475EV) and it's GONE! It's been there at least 2 years now, if I didn't get a chance to see anything else around the cargo ramp, I could always count on that. Anyone know where she went?

I seriously doubt it was flown out. Probably just moved elsewhere on the property.

My best guess is that with the areas by the triple hangars needed for UN Week parking, they need the spot where Evergreen was for more daytime parking. Last time I drove by in the late afternoon, it was a line of LAN and TAM aircraft along that stretch.

Evergreen has been taxing around all day. APU is running.

Taxing under its own power, or with a tug?

Taxing under its own power, or with a tug? I've been told under its own power.

Mojave Jet Asset Services? Sounds like a demolition company to me ... ugh so sad.

Just drove by it on N. Boundary Rd. They should leave it right where it is, it looks so damn majestic in that position

you don't need all 4 engines to taxi...

Yesterday some of us watched her taxi over to this spot from the old Pan Am Hangar area. Looked like she held for a while out by the deicing tent for engine run up. When I popped off this phone shot, she still had her APU going. Guess we'll find out what's next soon.

Wow, weren't we talking about it being dismantled and flown out in pieces not too long ago?

The last of the Evergreen Classics. At least she flew out of Kennedy with some dignity

And that song should play for dismantled aircraft...for 747's able to retire under their own power we should be listening to Sabbath's "Symptom of the Universe"

LOL, that's perfect!

I had wanted to get some shots of her as she cruised over my house but the darn clouds moved in at just the wrong time...
Although I did get to hear the low rumble of her P&W engines, that was nice.

The clouds were real, real low. I'm lucky she was empty and cleared the tree line in time for me to get a shot before vanishing into the clouds
