As I was walking the dogs yesterday evening, I was watching the 22L arrivals turning final silhouetted(??) by that moon. How I wished I had a camera (and the skills) to photograph them.

Nice shot. I'm hoping to buy a 2x extender for 600MM after Christmas and try my hand at this. Thinking that perhaps with 600MM on a APC sensor I can crop something to be useable. Who knows, I'll at least try!

How many MM were you at? Tripod?

70-300 VR from Tammy on meh 7D handheld.... Would have been a lot steadier and sharper if it really was an accident... But I really had seen this 10 seconds earlier and was pumping some serious excitement thru my veins when it started crossing.... Then I realized it was a regional jet and almost started to cry..... Some day I will do that with something good like a 747 or god forbid a 727.... I know, but I can dream right?!?!?

If that was a 747, it would have been larger than the moon and you wouldn't have seen the whole aircraft. The shot wouldn't be as nice then. :-p

I agree Phil, but when they pass they could be + or - 5 miles from me so the distance is never the same.. If they were on final, that shot would be easy! :cool:
