We've known for a while that the prototype shuttle, Enterprise, is going to the Intrepid Museum. We all thought that she would be placed on the pier alongside the Concorde. Here's what I heard from a Museum supervisor. The Museum owns property on the east side of 12th Ave. and it is spacious enough to house the Enterprise. Talks are underway about this. The logistics would be confusing as visitors would have to cross 12th Ave. to visit the Enterprise as well as the Museum, but it is feasible . Any thoughts? We all thought she would get placed on the pier and the Concorde would be moved forward. Maybe they don't want her so near to the Hudson.

There's that parking lot on the east side of 12th Ave that would fit it, and it's right at the bottom of the footbridge that goes over 12th Ave. The conditions for display say it needs to be beyond a certain flood zone (either the 100 year or the 500 year), and that may be the only location that suffices.
