Just walked into the room and the golf game was on and was just about to turn the channel to the NHL All-Star Game when I heard Jim Nantz give a "little nod here to Arnold Palmer". Seems that after 55 years of flying Arnold Palmer has confided in friends that he will not renew his pilots license. Palmer is 81 and is considered a sports icon and one of the greatest golfers to play the game. His last flight will be this week, Palm Springs to Orlando.
They showed three pictures of him. One was him hear a 1958 Cessna 175, N7072M, which is STILL registered to a private owner in Texas.
The 2nd was of him sitting on the stairs to his 2002 Cessna 750 Citation, N1AP.
And the 3rd was pretty cool. Two pics side by side of Arnold in the cockpit looking back towards the camera. One was current and the other was from many years ago in B & W.
