Today marks the official return of the Qantas A380 to it's LAX Route. QFA 93 from Melbourne landed in LAX this morning at 07:27 after her 14 hours and 48 minute flight across the Pacific.
This is significant after the uncontained engine failure on a Qantas A380 out of Singapore back on November 4th. It is a step in the right direction for showing that the Rolls Royce Trent 900 is a reliable engine and can still endure this route. Qantas had to initially pull the A380 off of the route after it was determined that it would need to use thrust limitations to avoid another failure.
