when new articles are posted by NYCA News in the forums, why is it always posted with a link to the article and nothing else in the thread? maybe it's just me but i think that for members of the forums it would be easier to read the article posted in the thread than having to go to another page. i read the forums a lot on my blackberry and find it hard to read the news page as the columns of text don't adjust to the screen on my BB when i zoom in. don't have that problem with the forum pages though.

Forum Pages on my iPhoe get truncated on the right side and I have no way to scroll anything off the right side, like posted embedded images..

As for your issue above, I think the post in the forum is ore of a service to let you know here that the article is published.

I've brought the matter to Phil's attention, if he hasn't seen it already.

Basically that's the logic, but maybe there's something our team can do about that.

With more and more people accessing the internet via smartphones, it would make sense to work the display issues out sooner or later. Then again, I still use old-fashioned PC's/notebooks and I don't plan to ever get a smartphone(I'm glad my job doesn't make me carry a crackberry), so for some it's a non-issue.

I understand what you're saying about just the article titles on here, and there are a couple reasons for that.

Firstly, the posts seen here in the forum pertaining to the articles are automated. An article goes up on the site, and a new forum post is atuomaticalyl generated pertaining to it, showing you the title and the summary which contains a link allowing you to go read the full article. Often, there are illustrations or even photo galleries embedded with code into the article that would not appear properly if dropped into the forums. Aside from the regular news, we put a lot of effort into our feature articles and exclusive coverage that would often double our workload to make a whole separate post just for here.

Also, we kinda want you to go have a look at the rest of the site, don't be afraid to leave the forums. Aside from the news that we have, we're also very deep in construction of our first major feature unveiling, and beyond that, we have new features that will be coming out steadily over the next year for YOU folks to enjoy. I think you'll all be excited by what the rest of the NYCA domain has coming up beyond the forums.

I'd also like to add that these new features are being constructed by people that we pay. Programming staff are paid by revenue that is mostly generated by those article's popularity, and as you will soon see, that translates into new features that you all will be using soon to your benefit and enjoyment. So merely viewing an article, or sharing an article on Facebook or Twitter or linking it to your buddies in any manner, could bring in an additional few cents or dollars that will go right back to serving you.

To address the scrolling issue, we have a small list of thigns that will need to be modified on the forums, but the construction of this new feature is intwined into the forums as well, so with backend forum editing being done as we speak, we can't do too much until that's done. But we're aware of issues like that and it's a priority on our list once we've taken the next step.

Keep in mind that Matt and I receive ZERO money from site revenue at this time. Not a cent. Everything here is made to either serve you and to also generate revenue...to further serve you.

With that, I'm very excited to soon show you all what we've been working on, which is easily our biggest feature yet. And even that one will be topped by a later feature. WOOO!

Hope this answers your questions, guys (and gals).
