Horrific accident on the NYS Thruway yesterday afternoon when a van carrying church members flipped over just north of Woodbury Commons. 7 people were killed and 7 seriously injured. A huge response by Police, Fire and EMS. Accodring to one article 6 EMS helicopters responded to the scene though only 4 were used. Later in the day one of the
victims was medevaced from Good Sam in Suffern to Jacobi in The Bronx.
One picture I saw showed Atlantic Air 1 from NJ overhead and two others showed ships
that I couldnt ID but I believe one was Stat Flight/LifeNet and another a NYSPD ship.
LifeNet must have sent the 2nd ship in the area and possibly the ship from Albany. State PD possibly a 2nd ship and maybe even NorthSTAR from NJ.
Just a terrible accident.
