I was thinking it would be fun if a couple of us set a date to play Microsoft Flight Simulator X. For those of you who do not know what Flight Simulator X is - It is one of the top "at home" flight sims and it's very fun to play! Right now I really don't have an idea of a date/time but that will be determined later on depending on who is a available at what time. So is anybody in? If so post/pm your Gamespy ID and a date/time you would be available to play and suggestions on which airports to go to and which planes to fly! If anyone has a question just pm me.

Don't own Flight Simulator X?

You can buy it fairly cheap at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Flight-Simulator-Standard-DVD-Pc/dp/B000GCH62C)

I also suggest that you buy a Headset (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826106812&cm_re=headset-_-26-106-812-_-Product)

While not necessary I suggest you get a Flight Stick (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-963291-0403-Attack-3-Joystick/dp/B0000ALFC5/ref=pd_bxgy_vg_img_b) because it adds a whole new experience to the game.

If you want a local solution you can pick up Flight Simulator X at the NFI pilot shop and Radioshack, Best Buy, Walmart ect; sells headsets and flight sticks..

Note: Before you buy it I STRONGLY suggest you check your system requirements over here (http://www.microsoft.com/games/pc/flightsimulatorx.aspx#sysreqs) if you are insure pm me with your specs/model number and I'll be happy to assist.

Make that 3 of us. I bought FSX and used it once - FS9 just seems to work better.

Though I like your idea!

Just landed at MSP in a Northwest Orient 707 after departing PHL. After all the money I sank into add-ons for FS9, I'm not switching. Plus I've heard it isn't that much better.

Hmm....seems we have an FS9 crowd here...can FS9 do multiplayer?

How about VATSIM? www.vatsim.net (http://www.vatsim.net) . Basically a huge community of pilots and atc running FS9/X/X-Plane

We can do that too.

Right now it looks like people want to do FS9. Any proposed dates/times?

i always wanted to do a big group of people on a network in FS9 flying the same fighter out of grand canyon national park airport (w/e i's actually called)...take off as a flight and dive into the canyon flying north...the rules are full throttle and no changing it, must stay below the rim of the canyon....last plane still flying wins!

Again, VATSIM makes this easier. It is cross platform. You need to download either SquawkBox or FSInn/FSCopilot. You log on, and there will (most likely) be air traffic control, and it makes for a great time.

If anyone was wondering, it's way hard to keep the Robinson shiny side up with only the keyboard. I'd be down to play along, have only the fs-x demo so far.
