Pennsylvania’s Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate acknowledges that the White House offered him a job if he would skip the state's primary.

They didn't have to offer him a job because he had no chance of winning. :)

Is this really that big of a deal? A job offer? WHOA!!!! If it were an HJ I'd understand the hype.

Offering a job in exchange for a political act, i.e. dropping out of a race, is illegal.

Depending on who offered him the job, it's possible someone (possibly Rahm Emmanuel and/or Obama himself, depending on how important the job was) may have committed a crime.
