FREE FLIGHT RAFFLE
Our friends at Nassau Flyers (http://www.flynfi.com/) will be in attendance to draw names out of a hat and see who will win a Free Flight Challenge! You'll get a certificate that allows you to schedule your first flight with NFI at no cost or obligation....but you may fall in love with it...hence the challenge.

SPECIAL GIVEAWAY
Ten winners among the attendees will be selected to receive a very unique 787-related memento!

We really hope to see you all there! Email me at [email protected] to RSVP or with any questions!

Heh that sounds sweet although i'll prob give the prize to my bro since he is training to be a pilot atm. With NFI to say. Btw I got no comments on my contest. Air hockey and the old 8 player racing game they got. Prizes are open for debate. What I was planning was winner of each gets $20 added to their card (more flight sim time) Though there is a $5 entry fee.

ok so 630 is dinner and raffle. I will make if, jut not sure what time and dunno if with or without family. But dont start the raffle without us since we do want to put in for it.

If coming with family, they'll prob leave me there and I'll need a ride home.

Do they still close the place off to kids over 21 after 8 or 9 pm? I know they did that years ago. but not sure if it was when they were ...ah, Jillian's (thanks highheels!)

NLovis
2010-03-04, 02:13 AM
No they dont close it off. They just completely close. I think its 10:30? Not exactly sure.

PhilDernerJr
2010-03-04, 07:17 AM
Unless something changed, they stay open much later than 1030. It would be a waste to serve alcohol if they are closed that early.

george
2010-03-04, 10:43 AM
Friday and Saturdays they are open till 1am
As far as I know they did away with the closing the place to kids after a certain hour as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
I believe the age to get in unaccompanied is 18.

PhilDernerJr
2010-03-04, 12:28 PM
FYI, I have to mention this disclaimer, I would love for our younger members to come and have fun, but if you want to stay late, you're welcome to bring a parent or adult to supervise. I'm unable to be responsible.

Also, please drink responsibly! I don't want anyone to get hurt or arrested.

Sorry I won't be able join you guys for dinner, but may I offer this suggestion.

Back in the late 70's I was attending SUNY Farmingdale. Many times on my free time I would drive my green Ford Pinto around Republic to see what was going on. Traveling west on Conklin St from New Highway, I would sometimes be able to see into the open hangar doors of the Fairchild production plant. At that time they were developing the A-10, which was unfortunately the last in a long line of successful WW2 and Vietnam era aircraft. That hangar stood almost precisely where you will be having dinner at Dave and Busters. May I suggest a toast to the workers and technology of the lost era of LI aviation history.

Moose. Hilarious.

Disappointed I can't be there, but it sounds like it'll be a great time. I am going flying tomorrow out of Frankfort, IN for the first time since September, so it's not all doom and gloom. Definitely take pics of the festivities!

This is probably a long shot but if anyone is flying into KFRG for this event and needs a place to tie down, please contact us and we'll try and work something out!

I'm being more than half-serious when I say: if you can get a plane out to KLAF (http://www.airnav.com/airport/KLAF) tomorrow by noon, I'll be there. I'll pay if we can arrange a bulk discount. :)

Hopefully you won't have to wait too long. I am just loving Laughlin and now have discovered El Cajon, who would have thought I would enjoy spending more than 5 mins in southern California? Wx is just too good and when you can drink a glass of OJ every morning from oranges you picked yourself staring at grazing horses, it's pretty awesome.

Sorry I missed it hopefully can make a spring or summer one.

I had a really great time last night, and I'm glad that so many people were able to make it out!

The 787 prize that we gave out to 10 people were 787 stat cards to commemorate the first flight. However, the thing that I thought made these cool was that all of these cards were physically ON the 787 during its first flight!

Kenny won the first flight, and he was kind enough to give it to Kenneth. Big thanks to Nassau Flyers for offering the prize!

I'm already working on ideas for our next party in a couple months. Great meeting the new folks, hanging with old folks, and I'm looking forward to doing it again!

Last night was a blast. It was good to see old faces and the "next generation" of NYCA Spotters out in force.
Have to admit though I was a little disappointed in Fred today, though...he only posted 64 pictures from the event.

just kidding Fred. :borat:

That's only because Kenny found out he couldn't drink for 8 hours before taking the flight... :D
8 hours, like THAT'S going to happen lol. Seriously, I hope Kenneth enjoys the hell out of the trip.

Hey John, where's those noisy pics of yours?!?!

Many of us who attended on Saturday tried out and enjoyed the very cool Sega Airline Pilot 777 sim game. Today I had lunch with a friend in Times Square and since Dave and Busters was less than a block away, I thought I would go try and improve my landing skills. Sadly even though the game area/midway was decent sized they do NOT have this gem of a game. Figured I would share in case anyone else had the same or similar idea.

Cheers
