American Airlines will be upgrading one of their six daily flights between JFK and MIA to the 777-200. The flights will be AA423 departing JFK at 11:10am and flight AA902 arriving into JFK at 7:15pm.

Good opportunity to fly on a 777.

OOOO This is also being sold as a two class cabin (Y and F) like the 762 flights to MIA. That means Elites and lucky non-elites can snag a biz class seat for a coach price :) Fares are cheap for mid July for that flight, $84 one way. I'll be booking this one for sure!

Nice. AA had a 777 on the JFK-MIA run back in 2004. I flew down on the 767-200 in J class seats in the morning. For the return on the 777 that afternoon, I requested an elite sticker upgrade and it went through during my flight down. It was my first flight in First on a 777. (On my first ever777 flight, I got to visit the flight deck and sit in the left seat after arrival at LHR). I tried out every seat position I could - lie flat, upright and everything in between. The FA walking by gave me weird looks since everytime she walked by, I was in a different position. :) Since that time, I've been able to enjoy a few more flights in F on the 777 to LHR and EZE.

I would have offered to trade out the seat for the flight attendant. :borat:  :borat:

Just looking at AA's summer schedules, looks like the 777 will go to SDQ instead on Saturday's, with the normal SDQ 763 doing MIA. The Sat schedule for the 777 departs JFK as AA 1529 at 1040 and returns as AA 1582 at 2015.

I will probably be doing a NYC-SDQ non rev r/t in late July so now that I found this have a first choice on how to get back, loads permitting.

Cheers
