Starting June 15, China Eastern will be increasing their 4 weekly PVG-JFK-PVG route to daily as well as implementing a new schedule. The arrival time in JFK will be 2:15pm and the departure will be 4:35pm (similar to the scheduling of Air China).

I don't know how much I trust AirlinerRoute. I go on there a bit and find them to be 50/50. If it's true though.....that's AWESOME.

It's already loaded into the JFK flight schedule.

I find airlineroute to be very accurate. There are times of course when things change rapidly, but whatever he posts tend to be true at the time.

Airlineroute goes straight from press releases and GDSs. I don't think there's any rumour in there at all. It's dry, but it's accurate.

GDS alone can't be trusted, and I've come close to posting things on the site from it and airlinerroute....just to find it was wrong after I followed my hunch that something seemed fishy. Not saying this is wrong, but just something I've seen.

I haven't gotten a shot of China Eastern since LAX years ago.

Things that I have seen posted on Airline Route that have not turned out to happen, generally did not happen because the airline scrapped the plans, not because of false reporting. If you look on China Eastern's website and try to book NYC to PVG after June 15th, the flight does indeed depart JFK at 4:35pm and on the return sector arrives into JFK at 2:15pm. So unless China Eastern decides at some point between now and June to scrap the daily flights and new time, then it won't happen. But as of now, it's happening.

This is a good news for us spotters; and for the large Chinese community in the NY area. I know many people endure the current un-godly schedule to go JFK - PVG direct. The new time will make people's life much easier. I expect this flight to be fully booked all year round. It will pose some competition to CO's EWR-PVG flight, too.

Phil, I actually remember that shot; it was a nice one. You'll get some more now....

Damn, I love JFK...

FYI-SU will also fly 11x per week this summer to JFK, with a mix of 767's, and A330's. I also got this information from airlineroute, and it is confirmed in online schedules.

Just to think about it, this could be the only shot of a China Eastern A346 at JFK.. I took this shot..

Sergio, I believe Senga got a shot of a very delayed flight departing from 31L in the wee hours of the morning.

Did CES change their schedule already (just the time, not the frequency)? I was looking at the arrivals for tomorrow, and saw that the past few CES flights have arrived around 3PM: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/CES587/history

Sched seems to be the same, looks like those were just late arrivals.

Hmm...I just checked OAG, and unless I'm going crazy, it looks like arrivals are scheduled for 2:15PM now. If that's true, that's great news. Just hope it keeps on coming a little late, because the light on either side of the 22s is kinda crappy at 2.

They don't even have Boeing longhauls on North American flights nowadays, but I certainly would love to see their tails in daytime!

According to the JFK schedule they have already changed times, with an arrival now of 2:15pm and a departure of 4:35pm. However the flight does not go daily until June.
