The day has arrived, or has it? We'll keep you posted right here.

Remember you can also follow us on Twitter for more up-to-the-minute updates.

As of right now, here's the weather...

KPAE 142322Z 1500/1524 13007KT 4SM BR SCT003 OVC019
FM150200 13007KT 3SM -RA BR OVC005
FM151000 16008KT 3SM BR OVC005
FM152000 17008KT P6SM BKN015 OVC02

Weather is not looking very good, but Boeing has said they will have the aircraft standing by if and when the weather clears. If it doesn't do so in time, it will be pushed to Wednesday.

More to come...

One more hour until the webcast starts: http://787firstflight.newairplane.com/ffindex.html

It seems that if the weather is not good enough at 10:00pst, the plane will wait at the beginning on the runway for it to clear.

the First Trucks are getting ready, and MANY Boeing employees are lining up and congregating at the side of the runway.

Awesome coverage so far. I touched down at LGA in a Northwest DC9 just as the Dreamliner was taking off, what timing.

Track it live with FlightAware here: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/BOE1

Boy the 787 is a beauty. You can easily tell this plane is different by the beacon and strobe lights. A new chapter in aviation history has begun.

Boeing says 787 will land a bit early, 1:00pm local time, about 15 mins from now.

Looks like some heavier rain heading toward BFI, could be the reason.

Matt Molnar

Looks like it will be closer to 1:15, FlightBlogger confirms it's due to WX.

What a beautiful piece of machinery. Hopefully the squwaks were few and they can ramp up the flight testing and deliver in late 2010.

Got some photos of the landing, weather was a little on the nasty side for a while, you can see from the photos... People were pulling over on both sides of the road to watch the landing..

I've been in meetings all day here in Milwaukee so sadly I missed the live feed. After watching this just now in my hotel room it makes me very proud that I was part of her birth but more importanly a citizen of a nation that can design and build such amazing feats of technology. Those who say America's best days have past....well today America's best once again soared where some only dream to be.

and great coverage by Jeremy!
Thanks.
Let's not forget about the great coverage from Andy, who provided us with the tweets and the excellent video coverage! Andy also provided much of the behind the scenes set-up work for the access as well, and I owe him a huge thanks.
Also to Phil and Matt who I seemingly haven't slept at all since Sunday night, and have worked hard to get Andy and I equipped to go live the moment we could feed 'em.

Congrats to Boeing, probably one of the last images of what "risk taking" in U.S. industry did to make this country great. Not only was the first flight a technological achievement, their streaming video was amazing also. From what I've read, Airbuses coverage of the A-400 first flight "crapped out".

Now that the first flight is over, is there a schedule of the next few flights? When? What will be done? Also - anyone seen anything on the B748 first flight?

Not sure when N787BA/ZA001 is going to fly again, but I hear N787EX, aka ZA002 (in ANA colors) is expected to fly next week. Haven't heard anything about 748.
