MEM (aka: FedEx Heaven) Advice?

Hey all,

Looking for some tips on locales at Memphis Int'l Airport in Memphis, TN. My Dad lives in Cooper Young, with the house directly under the approaches to 18 Left and 18 Center, but I've yet to do anything beyond binoculars from the porch down there. I also know the Memphis Police don't usually really care provided you stay low profile and don't do anything illegal...they openly admit they have bigger problems.

Any help? Advice?

I've heard mostly negative things about the police in that area. Couple of stories included encounters with many units and rude officers so be careful. I drove by but it was raining so I didn't stop.
