looking at the picture above, anyone else see a bulge in the fuselage in the area of the NLG? looks strange to me, wonder why it's there.

The standard A330 has a nose-down stance on the ground. In order to give the freighter a level floor to ease cargo loading, the same nose gear was used, but attached in a lower position. It doesn't fit in the standard gear well, so the bulged fairing was added.
