There was a nice group of spotters yesterday all waiting for the first Air France A380. While waiting, I was disappointed to learn that Lufthansa flight 400 is no longer a B744-400; it's now an A346. Another one bites the dust but maybe Lufthansa will resume the B744 for the summer season I hope. As predicted, the wind changed to the west so the A380 arrived on Rwy 31L shortly after 1300. When she taxied in, she was sprayed with water from both sides. Her registration was F-HPJA and she looked great. We waited for her to taxy -out again as she was taking-up lots of space but she never moved as of 1600. There was a press conference at the Terminal, but it was heavily guarded so we couldn't get in to hear what was said. It was fun seeing the Alitalia ticket agents and security guards taking photos of this double-decker beauty. I spoke to the guy in charge of the ceremony and he agreed that this aircraft is not as historic or as graceful as was the first Concorde arrival back in 77.
