Today marks the 34th anniversary of the first link in orbit between US and Russian spacecraft...

The 20th anniversary of the B-2 Spirit's first flight...

13th anniversary of the TWA 800 crash...

Two years since the TAM tragedy at Sao Paolo.

On a personal note, I had my first solo in the T-38 on July 17, 1984 :D

I guess it's just a coincidence, but July 17 has always been a big day in my family - various birthdays, anniversaries, and other events, so it stands out in my mind. Of course, given the tragedy of TWA800, and my personal connections, it's taken on a sadder meaning.

Happy 25 years of flying, Moose!

Did they have a service of any kind out at the flight 800 memorial? I remember some folks from here covering it in the past.

Yes, there is a memorial service there tonight - I'm probably going to attend.
