From what Ive notice from this year on, JFK is begining to be unpopular as most of the airlines operating here with 747s are begining to send more widebody Airbuses and the 777s. As of currently 2009 Im trying to find out what 747s are still operating to JFK?

From my list here the airlines operating 747s to JFK

Air China
Air France
Asiana
British Airways
China Airlines
El Al Israel Airlines
Japan Airlines> soon to be all 77Ws
KLM
Korean Air> soon to be all 77Ws
Lufthansa
Qantas
Singapore Airlines
Virgin Atlantic

As for Cargo Airlines There are
Air China Cargo
Air France Cargo> soon to be 777F
Atlas Air
Asiana Cargo
Cargolux
Cathay Pacific Cargo
China Airlines Cargo
Evergreen International
EL AL Cargo/Cargo Airlines
EVA Air Cargo
JAL Cargo
Kalitta Air
Korean Air Cargo

Thats what I got so far can anyone come up with more, or is this it?

I think you hit them all Sergio, but it has nothing to do with JFK being unpopular, it's all about the $$$. The 747's have 4 engines, the trip-7's have 2, the 777 saves money on fuel, maintenance costs, spare parts, etc. The 777's, and the long-haul Airbus aircraft are also newer and more efficient to operate. In these times where money is tight everywhere, and the airlines are looking to save a buck anyway they can, expect more and more 747's to come out of service.

Honestly, I am surprised that Boeing is still going to produce the 747-8i. After the cancellations, isn't Lufthansa the only one on the books right now to receive them???

The main reason for the 747 disappearing from not only JFK but from airports around the world is because airlines are starting to retire their 747 fleets and are replacing them with the 777 or the A340.

From the list you mentioned above the next 747 to disappear would be the Singapore 747. While SIN-FRA-JFK is currently one of the last 747 routes operated by Singapore. By this time next year the route should be a 777-300ER.

I love the airbus aircraft! But, its good to see new aircraft at JFK operated by the International Airlines.

I also brought this up; the dwindling 747's at JFK. The only one you missed is Saudia. Flight SVA 023 is usually a 747. I see it still at T1. I am sad to learn that KAL will replace its beautiful 747 with the 777. When will that start?

SVA 023 is now 772, and KAL started the 77W this week, I believe its on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays, most of the week KAL uses the 744, at least until late this year
